Roaring Fork Farmers Market Manager

Location: Based out of Roaring Fork Valley or Grand Valley, Colorado

Schedule: 24-30 hrs per week; Tue/Wed and Fri/Sat from mid-June through the end of September

Wages: $20/hour + sales commission

The Job

The Roaring Fork Farmers Market Manager attends and manages our farm’s vendor booth at the Carbondale and Aspen farmers markets. They are the face of our farm for our Roaring Fork Valley customers and act as relationship builders, problem-solvers and agricultural educators.  

This opportunity is for someone who: 

• Is resourceful and has the ability to problem-solve; 

• Has experience or an interest in agriculture; 

• Is courteous and patient with customers under pressure;

• Is able to make decisions with the information available and know when to ask for help; 

• Has a clean driving record and is comfortable driving a small box truck on highways and city roads.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up a neat and professional vendor booth and sell Rancho Durazno fruit at the Carbondale and Aspen Farmers Markets through the harvest season.

• Transport fruit using a Ford E-350 box van with automatic transmission from Palisade to farmers markets.

• Deliver leftover fruit as necessary to 1-2 customers in Roaring Fork Valley after market is over.

• Answer customer questions about our fruit and farming practices. 

• Hire and schedule additional helpers to staff markets as needed.

• Work with Rancho Durazno farmer to project market sales each week.

• Track market sales and expenses.

• Accept credit card payments with a Square Terminal Device.
